The LaSalle Trail starts in Roseland near the Roseland Town Park and runs to the Indiana / Michigan State Line where it connects to the Niles Township trail system and beyond.
The corridor was part of the Interurban line that ran from South Bend to Niles, Michigan, operated by Indiana Railway Co. subsidiary South Bend and Southern Michigan Railway Co., opened in 1903
