Head on out to Spicer Lake Nature Preserve and explore our self-guided "Snowflakes at Spicer" trail. You'll discover the incredible variety of snowflakes and the ingenious ways people photograph and preserve them! Look for the "Winter Walkthrough" sign in the parking lot. Walk the Hawthorn Trail and learn about Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley, who photographed the first snowflake in 1885! Expand your knowledge with snow fun facts and view pictures taken of real snow crystals. At the end, grab a flier to learn how to capture and preserve your own snow crystals at home!
