Food will be provided.

About April Rinne and the Flux Mindset

April Rinne is an advisor, speaker, author, and global citizen focused on bringing insight, access, and perspective to people and organizations worldwide. She helps individuals and organizations navigate changes and shifts that occur both in our personal lives and throughout the economy. FLUX: 8 Superpowers for Thriving in Constant Change, explores how we see, think, struggle with, and form relationships with change and develop a Flux Mindset. The Flux Mindset is about viewing changes as an opportunity and not as a threat. By adjusting our perspective and reevaluating how we see the changes occurring, we can navigate those changing events and respond better to current and future trends.

Rinne outlines 8 "superpowers" in her book:

  1. Run Slower
  2. See what's Invisible
  3. Get Lost
  4. Start with Trust
  5. Know your "Enough"
  6. Create your Portfolio Career
  7. Be all the more Human (and serve other humans)
  8. Let go of the Future

Working Groups for the St. Joseph County Comprehensive Plan

You have a chance to be integral in the creation of the Saint Joseph County Comprehensive Plan. Plan working groups will be established at the July 27 Summit. The purpose of the plan working groups is to involve community members in the development of solutions and strategies to address issues and opportunities that exist now in the County or may exist in the future. The roles and responsibilities, time commitment, and expectations will be explained at the Summit.

If you are interested in assisting with the development of the goals, objectives, and actions for the County's new Comprehensive Plan or have any expertise in one or more of the following areas, these working groups may be for you!

  1. Farmland Preservation
  2. Environmental Stewardship
  3. Utilities
  4. Transportation (Vehicular and non-vehicular)
  5. Housing and Neighborhoods
  6. Quality of Life and Place
  7. Government and Policy
  8. Economic Development
