Community Event Christmas Open House & Celebration of 110 years of Service in St. Joseph County
South Bend, Indiana; December 10th, 2017; Portage Manor is hosting a free public Christmas event at our beautiful historic building located at: 3016 Portage Ave. South Bend, IN. 46628, everyone is invited to attend.
Step back in time with us to the twentieth century, as we celebrate our mission. A mission to house and support the care of this county’s less fortunate that started in 1907 and continues today! Come visit a historical building and learn about the services we provide to this community. It will be a relaxed and fun afternoon to spread some Christmas cheer and learn a little more about us.
We hope you’ll join us fun a fun and festive event! Staff & volunteers will be costumed in 20th century apparel (thanks to the help of Casady Costume Company). We will feature homemade assorted cakes & pies (a recipe book will be available for purchase of our most guarded Victorian Secrets); a coffee & hot chocolate bar that will be sure to delight. Dessert and refreshments are free of charge, thanks to generous sponsors! Santa will stop by from 2p-4p with special treats for all children who attend, pictures with Santa can be purchased for $5.00 and all proceeds will go to Portage Manor’s Resident Council activities.
Building tours will be available at 1p, 2p, 3p, and 4p. The tours start on the hour.
Ticket raffles, crafts by our talented residents, and vendor products for purchase. Lots of unique and affordable items for sale, come support our cause and get some nice gifts for Christmas!!
