The Commissioners are in the process of taking several steps to bolster the security of the County City Building (“CCB”). The first change that you will see is increased screening at the front door of the CCB. From time to time, security has allowed employees to pass through security without a full screening which will no longer occur. Starting Wednesday, December 7, 2022, the security personnel will ensure that every bag is passed through the x-ray machine and every individual passes through the metal detector.

We are aware that this may cause a delay in entering the building during high traffic times. Therefore, we would ask that you plan accordingly. Additionally, we would ask that you take steps to expedite the process. Please avoid possession of any illegal or prohibited items such as alcohol, firearms, knives, pepper spray, explosives, narcotics, or drug paraphernalia. If you have a medical need for carrying in items like syringes, etc. please ensure HR is aware of the need so they can communicate with the security personnel. Additionally, please remove metal objects such as cell phones, keys, loose change, etc from your pockets prior to approaching the screening area.
