Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)


St. Joseph County Local Emergency Planning Committee's (LEPC) primary mission is to assist the community by providing information associated with the manufacture, use, storage and transportation of hazardous materials.

Tier II Reporting

The SARA Title III Community Right-To-Know act requires facilities who store, use, manufacture or transport re-portable quantities of hazardous materials to report their inventories and safety procedures to the Local Emergency Planning Committee in their community, their Local Responding Fire Departments and associated State Agencies. This information is to be made available to the public.
