Steve Slauson

Steve Slauson, Executive Director for the St. Joseph County Parks Department. Before that Steve served as Deputy Director for 16 years, Superintendent of Parks for 10 years and 5 years in various other positions for the St. Joseph County Parks for a total of 31 years of experience in Parks and Recreation. Responsible for 1600 acres of park land, 2.5 mile paved trail which is part if the Indiana-Michigan River Valley Trail, 115,00 square feet of park facilities and managing the various park budgets. Other responsibilities include; all communication, telephone and computer systems, staff development, park planning and site development. Before starting a new career in Park and Recreation, Steve worked for a general contractor as a Project Superintendent with over 15 years of construction management experience.
